Chinese Slowdown Scenario
December 2007 | Economic AnalysisIn the event of a Chinese slowdown, which is not our core view, Zambia's economy would primarily be hurt through its current account and exchange rate. The country's economic growth would remain positive but, without a global commodity price spike to ride, government investment in infrastructure would fall and real GDP expansion would suffer some drag.
