March 2007 | Ratings UpdatePresident Bingu wa Mutharika is rapidly becoming a 'lame duck´president as tensions between his supporters and those of former president Bakili Muluzi impede efforts to pass legislation. With the current trial of Vice-President Cassim Chilumpha exacerbating these political divides, Mutharika's legislative agenda is likely to be continually stymied by the pro-Muluzi faction.
