April 2007 | Ratings UpdatePolitical risk in Tanzania is fairly subdued at present, though with an increase in banditry over the last couple of months in certain parts of the country, there are concerns that the government and police have begun to relax their fight against crime. Two tourists and a tour guide were shot in the town of Arusha last month, while a police officer was also murdered in Mbeya. The government has come out defending its record in a bid to reassure the public, with Public Safety and Security deputy minister Mohammed Aboud stating that the police has registered a 'record
