Macroeconomic Forecast Sudan
July 2007 | Macroeconomic ForecastsBMI View: In spite of the ongoing crisis in Darfur, growth is speeding ahead in Sudan; we forecast real GDP growth of 10.3% y-o-y in 2007. Given double-digit growth, inflation looks reasonable at an estimated 7.7% y-o-y this year, and this is an improvement on last year's estimated 8.0%. The current account remains a worry, though, as we believe the deficit will be a significant 10.5% of GDP in 2007.
