Macroeconomic Forecast Tanzania

July 2007 | Macroeconomic Forecasts

BMI View: Abundant rains earlier this year have put a stop to the power shortages suffered in 2006 following a drought the previous year. We anticipate GDP will no longer feel the effects of the shortages, and will come in at a healthy 7.3% y-o-y in 2007. Inflation, meanwhile, will be kept under control, posting an average 5.5% y-o-y in 2007, and trending down to 4.0% next year.
