August 2007 | Ratings UpdateThe Tanzanian government has recently received praise for making progress on gender issues. Two new reports have been published by the International Financial Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, which commended the government in addressing gender inequalities in policy and legislation and for recognising the economic contributions of women. The studies further suggest that Tanzania could gain at least a percentage point of growth by removing obstacles to women's entrepreneurship.
