Kenyan Muslims vowed on August 31 to hold weeks of protests against what they call arbitrary arrests, illegal deportation, torture and harassment suffered in the country. The vow followed a day of marching at police headquarters in Nairobi. Kenya's Muslim Human Rights Forum launched a petition at the August 31 rally, naming 18 Kenyans it said had been sent to Somalia, Ethiopia and Guantanamo Bay, where they were held without charge and in some cases, tortured. The chairman of the Human Rights Forum expects to collect over one million signatures.
