September 2007 | Ratings UpdateA recent United States Institute of Peace briefing paper has highlighted that a number of logistical issues need to be addressed before the next elections in 2009. Before these elections take place, Sudan must conduct a census, clarify or pass laws on political parties and undertake voter registration. However, it is looking increasingly unlikely that the Sudanese people will go to the polls in July 2009.
