Infighting in Uganda's rebel Lord's Resistance Army, in particular between factions loyal to leader Joseph Kony and his deputy Vincent Otti, intensified in October. The LRA has fought a vicious 20-year campaign against the Ugandan government, but has latterly been exiled and a ceasefire was signed last year. The Ugandan army said the fighting took place in the DRC.
