BMI View: Ongoing shilling strength against the US dollar will likely cause Kenyan exporters some pain, as their goods become increasingly uncompetitive in the global marketplace. We anticipate a worsening of the current account balance, from an estimated deficit of 2.3% of GDP in 2007, to 3.4% of GDP in 2008.
