Nkunda Still At Large

There was fresh fighting between the army and renegade General Laurent Nkunda during November 2007, uprooting 30,000 people who were already sheltering in displaced camps in the east of the country. UN sources report that it was Nkunda's forces that attacked army positions. A political solution remains possible for Nkunda, who has repeatedly been offered the opportunity to re-integrate his renegades into the reformed national army.
