June 2007 | Ratings Update

The latest African Union (AU) summit is to be held in Accra, starting on June 30. This summit, the ninth in the AU's history, has attracted the highest level of security in Accra's history, in terms of technology and personnel. This highlights the elevated security threat that the summit brings to the city, since it could be a target for terrorists or protestors. However, given the temporary nature of the event, and the security measures taken, we leave our ratings unchanged, giving Ghana 9/10 for security threats.
