Macroeconomic Forecast Cameroon

July 2007 | Macroeconomic Forecasts

We are forecasting a gradually improving balance of payments position over the next few years. From an already reasonable level of 2.5% of GDP in 2006, we expect the deficit to narrow to 2.4% of GDP in 2007, and then 2.3% in 2008. Although we do see oil receipts declining - on the back of lower production and prices - the no-oil export sector is looking healthy, and import growth will remain contained at around 5%.
