Operators Vie For Rural Rollout Subsidies
August 2007 | Industry NewsNigeria's phenomenal mobile growth has been well documented in recent years. From just 2.6% in 2003, mobile penetration jumped to almost 22% by the end of 2006, and BMI forecasts that this figure will rise to 33% by the end of 2007. The key growth drivers in the mobile market are intense competition between the likes of MTN, Globacom and Celtel and the rapid rollout of wireless networks, which have boosted the size of the potential customer base.
