Koroma To Turn Things Around?
September 2007 | Political Risk AnalysisErnest Bai Koromo was sworn in as president of Sierra Leone on 17 September, almost immediately after results were declared from the 8 September poll. Koroma won 54.6% of the vote, against 45.4% for Solomon Berewa of the incumbent Sierra Leone People's Party (SLPP). This followed the first round elections on 11 August, in which Koroma gained 44.3% of the vote, triggering a second round run-off.
