Macroeconomic Forecast Cameroon
October 2007 | Macroeconomic ForecastsWe project a rise of real GDP growth to 4.3% in 2007 from 3.9% last year, following recent achievements in securing debt relief and government reforms. Torrential rains have dampened this year's cotton and cocoa outputs, but more serious problems remain in the country's business environment. The long-term structural problems Cameroon must address are substantial and we forecast this year's 4.3% real GDP growth rate to hold steady over the next year.
