And The Fighting Continues…
March 2008 | Ratings UpdateDespite the signing of a peace agreement on January 23 between the government of Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and several rebel groups of the Kivu province, heavy fighting continued in the eastern part of the country. The United Nations Organization Mission in the DRC (MONUC) reported almost daily clashes between rebels loyal to renegade Tutsi General Laurent Nkunda and Pareco Mai Mai militias over the course of February 2008, estimating dozens of casualties.
