The Angolan authorities appear to be taking measures to reduce the risk of violent unrest at the upcoming September 2008 parliamentary elections. Home Affairs Minister Roberto Leal Monteiro "Ngongo" announced in April that election personnel will be aided by 'human and material resources in order to secure orderly legislative elections' according to state-run press agency
