SADC Tensions Rising

Mozambique has begun the task of burying victims of xenophobic attacks in South Africa. It is estimated that 30 Mozambican nationals were killed and tens of thousands were driven back across the border during the attacks on African immigrants in South African squatter camps. It is thought that Mozambicans, along with Zimbabweans were especially targeted. This bodes ill for regional relations among the South African Development Community (SADC) members. As such, we have downgraded Mozambique's 'regional profile' score in our short-term political risk
