Khama: So Far, So Good
June 2008 | Ratings UpdateSome commentators voiced doubts about recently installed President Ian Khama because of his military background and the fact that he became head of state on the back of the early retirement of his predecessor, Festus Mogae. Although he has yet to prove he can win his own electoral mandate, Khama has not put a foot wrong so far. He is making a determined effort to connect with the electorate, and has earned wide respect by being one of most forceful regional leaders working towards a democratic solution to the political debacle in neighbouring
