June 2008 | Macroeconomic ForecastsWith price controls and subsidies across a variety of goods and a regional currency pegged to the euro, Gabon has avoided the high levels of inflation currently being suffered across much of Africa. We see this trend continuing, with inflation forecast to decline to 5.5% by end-08 from 5.9% in end-07, with further declines to 4.1% projected for end-09.
