Arrest Warrant Raises Security Threat
July 2008 | Political Risk AnalysisBMI View: The pending arrest warrant for Sudan's President al-Bashir raises the level of security risk in the country, since rebel groups will now be less likely to adhere to the Darfur peace process. However, the African Union is reportedly seeking a suspension of the warrant for 12 months - a move which would reduce the risk of disruption to next year's elections.
