Ratings Unchanged As Fighting Ends In The North
July 2008 | Political Risk AnalysisWhile we are encouraged by the recent announcement from Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh that the fighting against Houthi rebels in the north of the country is finally over after four years of ongoing clashes, we are keeping our short-term political risk rating of 63.1 unchanged. Yemen scores a poor four out of ten in the security threats sub-category of our political risk ratings given the problems in the north and the ongoing terrorist threat. We will wait to see if the break in fighting holds before increasing this score.
