Macroeconomic Forecast Algeria

July 2008 | Macroeconomic Forecasts

The Algerian dinar has continued to strengthen against the dollar, as the central bank continues to pursue a strong currency policy in order to combat the inflationary impact of rising money supply. However, we are forecasting a slight drop in the value of the dinar in the second half of the year as the dollar rebounds from its current lows. We are forecasting a year-end rate of DZD63.00/US$, falling to DZD66.50/US$ by end-2009.
