Government To Remain In Stasis

Despite the fact that Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa has been incapacitated by a stroke for a month now, we believe the government of Zambia is likely to continue insisting more time be given to allow for recovery before a discussion about succession can be initiated. Any decision that Mwanawasa cannot continue to be president would be extremely destabilising for the political elite.
