Macroeconomic Forecast Uganda
July 2008 | Macroeconomic ForecastsUganda's Tourist Board expects tourism receipts to exceed US$500mn in 2008, up 5% on 2007. Tourism receipts exceed those from coffee, but this increase in visitor income may not offset a possibly larger fall in coffee output, the largest single goods export. As such, our forecast is for Uganda's trade deficit to continue to widen to around US$1.9mn in 2008 and to US$2.1 the following year.
