Licence To Drill
July 2008 | Ratings UpdateFrench oil giant Total is reportedly set to begin drilling in southern Sudan's oil block B having recently reclaimed its rights to the 67,000 square kilometre area. The company had been locked into a three-year battle with a small UK-based firm White Nile, but received a judgment in its favour last year. Having since set up a base camp on location, Total plans to start drilling in October.
