MoU Will Help Qatar To Attract Omani Talent
August 2008 | Political Risk AlertThe recent memorandum of understanding (MoU) on labour cooperation, signed by Qatar's Minister of Labour Dr Sultan bin Hassan al-Dosari and his Omani opposite number Dr Juma bin Ali bin Juma, is likely to lead to a significant increase in the number of Omanis nationals migrating to Qatar for work. Already 2,500 Omanis have made the move, tempted by the abundance of employment opportunities in Qatar's fast growing economy (we forecast real GDP growth to hit nearly 12% in 2008, and then average 9.3% over the following four years).
