August 2008 | Political Risk AnalysisBMI View: An end to Zimbabwe's political crisis is no nearer after the recent summit of regional leaders. Regime hardliners have made only meaningless concessions in negotiations with the opposition, which have been rejected, bringing the process to deadlock. Mugabe's next move seems to be to form a government to give the status quo an image of respectability, but that will do nothing towards finding a true democratic solution.
