Qadhafi's Son Announces Withdrawal From Politics

In a surprise move, Seif al-Islam Qadhafi has announced his withdrawal from Libyan political life. Islam, the son of leader Muammar Qadhafi, holds no official title but has been a key player in Libyan political life for several years and has been widely tipped to succeed his father. In a televised speech to supporters in the southern town of Sebha, he said that he had 'decided to no longer intervene in state affairs'.
