With oil output stagnating, real GDP growth in Gabon is forecast to shrink to 3.9% in 2009, down from 4.2% in 2008 and 5.6% in 2007. While the non-oil extractive industry is growing rapidly, oil still accounts for too much a percent of GDP for the country to see rapid growth amidst declining production.
