Hizbullah In Sinai?
September 2008 | Political Risk AlertNew information suggests that an attack by Hizbullah and Hamas on Israeli tourists to Egypt's Sinai region is imminent, according to Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak. According to reports, the two groups are looking at conducting a joint abduction operation, with a view to transferring the detainees to Gaza until such a time as Israel agrees to release Palestinian prisoners, as demanded by Hamas. Hizbullah has stated it intent to attack Israelis abroad in revenge for the killing of Imad Mughniyeh in Damascus earlier this year. However, there have been no recorded instances of the Lebanese group's presence in Egypt
