Intra-Christian Clashes Recall Civil War

Rival Christian groups clashed in northern Lebanon today, in a gunfight that killed two people and injured three more. The incident, which took place in the village of Bsarma, was triggered by a disagreement over a banner for a Lebanese forces (LF) mass, which supporters of that party were attempting to hang near the offices of the pro Syrian Marada. Leaders of both parties involved - the pro-Syrian Marada and the pro-government Lebanese Forces - have sought to play down the political side of the deaths, but for many Lebanese, the intra-Christian fighting will be all too reminiscent of
