Fiscal Deficit To Peak In 2008

BMI View: The fiscal deficit in Ghana will swell notably in 2008, coming in at a forecast GHS1.6bn (9.0% of GDP). Key drags on the fiscal position will be the lifting of import duties, the extension of energy subsidies and significant increases in public sector salaries.
