September 2008 | Political Risk AlertThe leaders of Egypt's opposition parties and NGOs met last week at the Cairo headquarters of the Leftist Union, to launch their campaign to bring a lawsuit against top government figures for criminal negligence in Duweiqa, following the rock-slide which killed up to 100 people in September. The groups say the government ignored reports on previous collapses, and are seeking to press charges on government officials including Prime Minister Ahmad Nazif, Minister of Housing Ahmed al-Maghrabi and Cairo Governor Abd al-Azim Wazir.
