Qaradawi Comments Could Stir Tensions

Respected Muslim Brotherhood mufti Youssef al-Qaradawi has suggested that Shi'a Muslims have 'infiltrated' Muslim countries, including Egypt, Sudan, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco. 'Now they have people who write in newspapers and author books', he said, adding that the situation could cause instability: 'You will get a Shiite minority demanding minority rights and clashing with the Sunni majority and clashing with the Sunni majority and here fires are lit and wars happen'. Earlier this month, Adel Al-Assadi, the former Iranian consul general in Dubai said that the Revolutionary Guards were running sleeper cells in the six Arab monarchies of the Gulf.
