Algerian police claim to have intercepted a planned terrorist attack on the presidential palace in Algiers. According to reports in local daily El Khabar, the would-be perpetrator is a man in his sixties, known as Ammi Abdellah, who was arrested along with 14 others. Interrogation of the suspects revealed a link to al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), and the mastermind behind the attack has been named as Abdelmoumene Derbal
