Power Crisis

September 2008 | Ratings Update

Kenya is currently suffering a power crisis, owing to the recent increase of electricity costs. The Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) estimates that energy costs have risen by 66-95% since January. Members claim that they pay KES10-15 per unit of power, far higher than the KES2.5-3.8 paid in China and India.
