Macroeconomic Forecast Gabon

September 2008 | Macroeconomic Forecasts

Amid falling oil output, we are forecasting real GDP growth of 4.2% in 2008, down from a relatively high 5.6% in 2007. Going forward we see real GDP growth slowing further to 3.9% in 2009, before picking up in 2010 to 4.3%, on the back of increased mining activity. This year's growth slowdown was exacerbated by strike action at Shell Gabon.
