Macroeconomic Forecast Ghana

September 2008 | Macroeconomic Forecasts

BMI View: Consumer price inflation in August came in at 18.1% y-o-y, confirming the downtrend seen since the peak of 18.4% y-o-y in June. We believe inflation will continue to trend lower, but the December elections pose upside risk to the readings. As such, we are forecasting only a slight decline, to 16.0% by end-08.
