Kuwait's relations with Sudan, which have been frosty since the latter supported Saddam Hussein in the 1991 Gulf War, are improving rapidly. Following Finance Minister Mustafa al-Shimali's visit to Khartoum earlier this month, direct flights have now resumed between the two countries. In addition, slightly closer to home, Jordan's King Abdullah has said that his country's relations with Kuwait are 'at their best'. On the Iranian question, the King said, 'Our stances are identical with our brothers in the Gulf regarding the Iranian nuclear file, and we have repeatedly reiterated that this crisis must be overcome through peaceful diplomatic
