Still Bearish Equities
October 2008 | Market StrategyWe remain bearish Qatar's Doha Securities Market (DSM), although the magnitude of recent falls means that we could witness somewhat of a 'dead cat' bounce in the short-term. Having spent the Eid ul-Fitr holiday watching equity markets across the globe sell off, when the DSM reopened on Sunday (October 5) investors similarly headed for the exit, sending the index down 7.0%. The market has continued to fall today (October 6), closing at 8,275, down 4.5% on the day.
