In many ways the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) already functions as a de-facto independent state, and so we note with interest that in a radio interview on Tuesday (October 7), Dindar Zebari, the KRG's coordinator for UN affairs, said that a strategic agreement will shortly be signed between the KRG and the UN for co-operation in a number of fields. The agreement will aim to help the KRG in the spheres of health, agriculture and education over the coming three years.
