News that Hamas has accepted an Egyptian plan for inter-Palestinian reconciliation is positive, but we remain sceptical of any improvement in cross border security in the short term: the Gaza Strip will remain a threat to Egypt as long as Hamas is in power, regardless of the state of its relations with Fatah.
