Banking Sector: Growth To Slow But Fundamentally Stable

The long-term outlook for the Qatari banking sector is broadly positive and we expect asset growth to hold up, albeit at a moderated rate in relation to the stellar expansion of the last few years. Our view is supported by Qatar's solid macroeconomic fundamentals, the banking sector's strong deposit-orientated capital base, and Qatar's ambitious goal to rival Bahrain and the UAE as a regional financial centre.
