As we went to press, the ruling National Democratic Party was preparing for its annual conference, which is to be held between 1-3 November, under the tagline 'A New Style of Thinking for the Future of Our Country'. According to a spokesman, the conference will focus on 'ways of fighting poverty, improving the living standards of those on low incomes, developing public services, especially in the field of education and health as well as to review the electoral system'.
