October 2008 | Macroeconomic ForecastsIn the absence of recent data, we believe that inflationary pressure remains elevated in Yemen and have pencilled in a year-end rate of 16.0% y-o-y for CPI. This should ease significantly in 2009 due to reduced oil liquidity, lower food prices and the general economic slowdown - we are forecasting a rate of 8.0% by year-end.
