A Call For Calm
October 2008 | Ratings UpdateThe IMF has stated that it is satisfied with the steps taken so far to resolve a corruption scandal at the Bank of Tanzania , though it believes the 'process has not ended'. Tanzanian newspapers had earlier reported that the IMF considered the external payments account (EPA) scandal closed, inciting anger among opposition parties. Many are upset that the audit, which has allegedly found evidence linking the ruling Chapa Cha Mapinduzi party to the scandal, has not yet been made public, but with the IMF continuing to insist the investigation move forward, we are confident a resolution will eventually be reached.
