Macroeconomic Forecast Mauritius
October 2008 | Macroeconomic ForecastsBMI View: We are forecasting a small narrowing of Mauritius' current account deficit from 10.0% of GDP in 2008 to 9.1% in 2009 as the price of commodity imports falls and a weaker rupee curtails import demand. Offsetting these, however, will be a shortfall in net services, as demand for tourism and international banking services falls on the back of a global slowdown.
