October 2008 | Macroeconomic ForecastsLatest inflation data shows that in September, consumer prices grew by 15.3% y-o-y. Still disconcertingly high - indeed, it is the second highest monthly reading since May 2006 - it is a significant contraction of 1.4% m-o-m, falling from the 17.7% y-o-y posted in July 2007. With global food and energy prices having retraced considerably from their recent highs, we maintain our end-08 inflation estimate of 12.0%.
